We are thrilled to announce that VALIDATE has secured a $2.4 million grant extension from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). This funding will further our work supporting research on Tuberculosis (TB) vaccines, until February 2027. This grant extension will facilitate future collaborations, provide crucial funding for researchers, and promote career progression, aligning with VALIDATE's mission to expedite vaccine development and support the next generation of scientists. The funding will support our upcoming workshops, fellowships, pump-priming grants, and training grants aimed at advancing TB vaccine research and help us foster career development, especially for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and those in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).

Since our founding in 2017, VALIDATE has fostered 100+ collaborations, securing £13.8m in follow-on funding; supported the publication of 63 peer-reviewed publications, organised 53 events with over 2,000 attendees from 70 countries. Our community has grown to over 700 members in 76 countries. We have funded £30 pump-priming grants; 46 training grants totalling, and 56 travel grants. We've initiated 24 mentor-mentee relationships, established the Early Career Development Network (ECDN), and awarded 4 TB-focused early career researcher fellowships. This additional funding will allow to continue our important and impactful work.
