VALIDATE PhD Showcase Series

The upcoming VALIDATE PhD Showcase is set to unite global researchers for concise, insightful presentations and skill-building. On September 12, 2023, at 15:00 BST, PhD students will share 8-minute talks on their research, followed by 2 minutes for questions, all aimed at improving their communication abilities.

The event goes beyond talks – it offers interactive workshops where presenters engage with senior VALIDATE Investigators for personalized feedback and guidance on future presentations.

With a dual focus on refining presentation techniques and fostering international networking, this showcase features distinguished speakers and their topics:

  • Esther Uwimaana from Stellenbosch University, South Africa Research: Characterizing cell-mediated response to Mycobacterium tuberculosis proteins
  • Jonathan Kofi Adjei from KCCR, Ghana Research: Identifying biomarkers for Buruli ulcer disease through blood immunophenotyping
  • Isaac Acheampong from KNUST & KCCR, Ghana Research: Immune biomarkers for tuberculosis diagnosis and monitoring in Ghana
