Annual Meeting 2027
VALIDATE’s 9th Annual Meeting will take place from 10–14 May 2027 at One Farrer Hotel in Singapore. Taking place during VALIDATE’s 10th anniversary year, the meeting will bring our international community together to share research, develop new skills, make connections and celebrate ten years of the VALIDATE Network.
Two-Day ECR Workshop – 10–11 May 2027
The Annual Meeting will open with a dedicated two-day workshop for Early Career Researchers. The Workshop "The Management Experiment: People, Performance, and Other Stuff They Never Taught You in the Lab" will be hosted by Peggy Klaus. Further information about the workshop’s theme and programme can be found on the ECR Workshop Page. Applications to this workshop should be made below when you register for the main Annual Meeting. Deadline for registrations for the ECR workshop is 27 November 2026.
Three-Day Annual Meeting – 12–14 May 2027
The main Annual Meeting will take place over three days and is registration is free for VALIDATE members. It will showcase research relating to VALIDATE’s core pathogens (Mycobacteria, Leishmania and Burkholderia pseudomallei) as well as providing opportunities for discussion, networking and collaboration.
The programme will include research talks, poster sessions, interactive discussions and social events, bringing together researchers from institutions and countries across the world. A full agenda will be published closer to the meeting date.
The Venue – One Farrer Hotel, Singapore
Located in the heart of Singapore, the One Farrer Hotel offers excellent conference facilities and on-site accommodation. Its central location provides convenient access to public transport and many of Singapore’s cultural and historic districts, making it an ideal setting for scientific exchange, networking and collaboration.

Registration is restricted to VALIDATE members, for whom registering is free. Places are limited and advance registration is required.

Unlike previous years, VALIDATE will not be offering standalone Travel Grants. However, travel and accommodation funding is still available; it will now be awarded through the Research Talk and Poster Abstract application processes rather than through a separate Travel Grant call. Applications will be reviewed by the VALIDATE Network Management Board (NMB).
Using the portal below, members may apply to:
- Give a Research Talk: VALIDATE Investigator and Associate members based in any country may apply. VALIDATE will cover all travel and subsistence costs to attend the Annual Meeting for successful applicants.
- You should read the Call Guidance below before completing the application form.
- Present a Poster: This call is open to all VALIDATE members, of any level and based in any country. Travel funding (covering all travel and subsistence costs to attend the Annual Meeting) is available only to successful poster applicants based in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Members based in HICs may still apply to present a poster but will need to cover their own travel and subsistence costs.

NB There is no need to apply for both a talk and a poster for the same topic; if you apply for a talk and are unsuccessful then the NMB will choose whether to invite you to present a poster instead, or that you were not successful for either category.
