Dr. Rebecca Powell Doherty graduated with her B.S. in Biology from NC State University in 2005 and went on for her PhD in Immunology at UNC Charlotte, graduating in 2010. Most recently, Rebecca completed her Master of Public Health at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. She has nearly a decade of post-doctoral experience, having previously conducted proteomics analyses at Wake Forest University followed by translational research on antioxidant therapies for trauma, haemorrhage and inflammation at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC (USA). She also spent some years as an adjunct professor at Queens University of Charlotte, teaching anatomy and physiology to nursing students. During her time as a post-doc, Rebecca presented numerous posters and presentations, and regularly made herself a nuisance by questioning conference speakers worldwide. She is currently the Tuberculosis vaccine group project manager at The Jenner Institute, University of Oxford.
