Tomorrow: VALIDATE Annual Meeting Days Two!

We had a very successful Day One of the VALIDATE Annual Meeting 2021, which you can watch our website and the Hub. Annual Meeting Special Guest - Mr Antony Phillipson. UK High Commissioner Designate to South Africa

Antony Phillipson

We are delighted that Mr Phllipson will open on day two of the annual meeting. Antony joined the Civil Service in 1993 and began his career in the Department of Trade. In his career he has worked in many roles including First Secretary Trade Policy at the UK in Embassy in Washington; Prime Minister’s Private Secretary for Foreign Affairs; Head of the Iran Co-ordination Group at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office; High Commissioner to Singapore; and Director, Trade and  Partnerships at the Department for Exiting the European Union. In June 2021 Antony was appointed High Commissioner-designate to South Africa taking up the post in July 2021.

Antony will give a short address discussing the importance of international collaboration for vaccine researchers.

ISNTD shared details of a new DxConnect Virtual Biobank, Grow Futher discussed scaling up One Health in the livestock sector and Senegal Senegal passed the torch to Burkina Faso marking 20th anniversary of the Global Fund. We helped the MRC dispel some common myths about applying for their fellowships, and the ERC shared an interview with someone who joined one of their funded projects. WriteThatPhd were sharing tips for writing a PhD thesis including 11 things examiners want, key assessment criteria and writing a literature review.
