Application Closing Date: 21 October 2018
During the programme 12-15 early career scientists will be paired up with experienced immunologists from different host institutions. Over a 12 month period, mentors and mentees will hold a series of meetings that can be used to discuss career development, barriers faced at work and overcoming tough work situations.
The BSI see mentoring as a two way relationship that is beneficial to both mentor and mentee, allowing both parties to gain valuable insight into the other career whilst being on hand to offer advice and support when able to.
The mentoring scheme will be a long distance relationship, with the aim of meetings being held via Skype, telephone or email. The BSI feel that a more honest and beneficial mentoring relationship will be created when mentors and mentees from different host institutions are paired together.
After pairing up, all new mentors and mentees will be required to participate in a mentoring training session that will take place in London on Wednesday 16 January 2019.
