Data Manager in Infectious Diseases Data Observatory (IDDO)

The Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health is seeking to appoint a Data Manager to transform the diverse data sets that are submitted to the Infectious Diseases Data Observatory. The role will report into the Head of Data Engineering, and is an exciting opportunity to join the University’s world-leading global team.
As a Data Manager, you will be responsible for the IDDO disease portfolio, which includes malaria (WWARN), Ebola, visceral leishmaniasis, schistosomiasis, COVID-19 and medicine quality. You will manage, transform and curate clinical, epidemiological, molecular and pharmacology data, whilst ensuring the completeness and accuracy in the repository. You will work closely with the core IDDO team and liaise directly with international data contributors.
You will hold an Undergraduate Degree in a relevant scientific subject or health-related field. You will also have proven experience of data management and transformation. A good understanding of a statistical package, eg: Stata, SPSS, SAS or R, is essential. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with people from different backgrounds and all levels of seniority. You will also have proven experience of successfully contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
