The Emory Vaccine Center has strengths in vaccinology, immunity to diverse viral and bacterial pathogens, and mechanisms of pathogenesis. There is a significant focus on pre-clinical and translational research, which is bolstered by close links with the Yerkes National Primate Research Center, the Hope Clinic, which houses a Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Unit where human clinical studies are performed, and broad collaborations between Emory’s basic scientists and clinicians. Graduate education is robust at Emory and our faculty have access to multiple diverse graduate programs. Our research facilities are state-of-the-art and include several new research buildings, biocontainment labs and numerous excellent core facilities such as the Emory Integrated Proteomics Core, Emory Comprehensive Glycomics Core, Emory Gnotobiotic Animal Core, and the Emory Integrated Genomics Core. Our intellectual environment is enriched by proximity to and collaborations with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, The Winship Cancer Institute, Emory Transplant Center, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the Centers for Disease Control. Visit our website for more information about our faculty and links to our graduate programs: http://www.vaccines.emory.edu.
