The University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a full time, non-tenure track Lecturer in Microbiology and Immunology, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2019. We are seeking a dynamic, career-oriented individual with demonstrated expertise to teach upper level (3rd and 4th year) undergraduate courses in microbiology and immunology. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate lectures and laboratories, student advisement, student recruitment, and independent research mentoring. Teaching responsibilities may include microbial physiology lectures and lab, microbial diversity and evolution, environmental microbiology and other courses as assigned. Participation in the development of new courses to expand course offerings in applied microbiology is also expected. Successful candidates will be expected to promote an environment of inclusiveness and diversity among students and faculty.
Required Qualifications
PhD degree in microbiology or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with or interest in active learning approaches and development of laboratory exercises. University level teaching experience.
