The Nuffield Department of Medicine, University of Oxford is seeking an experienced immunologist to lead the preclinical activities and plan for clinical studies of this ambitious and cutting-edge vaccine development programme against gonorrhoea.
You will be responsible for identifying, defining and planning immunological studies, which contribute to the overall aims of the pre-clinical work and clinical trials for the Gonococcal Vaccine Project, including ELISA, ELISPOT, and FACS assays. You will plan and direct novel mechanistic immunological studies to understand the basis of protection against gonococcus. You will contribute to the progress and success of the CARB-X-funded Gonococcal Vaccine Project led by Professor Cal MacLennan to develop a vaccine against gonorrhoea. You will also develop novel and existing laboratory methodologies while identifying and troubleshooting technical or scientific problems.
