Employer: The Pirbright Institute
Salary: from £32,361 with higher remuneration considered depending on experience and qualifications
Contract Type: Fixed Term
Contract Lenght: Limited terms for 3 years
The Pirbright Institute has recently received significant funding to expand their research programmes studying antibody responses in livestock. This includes a five year BBSRC project to coordinate and improve immunological reagents and a three year Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation project to define the fine specificity of antibody responses in cattle. The Pirbright Institute's overall aims are to remove barriers for vaccinology research in livestock and use knowledge of the antibody response to improve vaccine design. They are now recruiting a scientific project manager to help design, manage and coordinate these activities. The three years post will play a key role in assessing scientific progress against milestones and ensure knowledge exchange between internal groups and external collaborators.
The Pirbright Institute are looking for a very well organised person who is able to drive projects and collaborations while also providing input into the critical assessment of scientific progress. This will involve travel in the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Programme, Immunological Toolbox lead and numerous external collaborators. This is a very science focussed project management position that will provide an opportunity to oversee and help influence several high-profile projects.
Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant branch of biosciences and have significant and relevant experience in a recognised R&D environment.
