PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases is excited to announce a Call for Papers for research on the Elimination and Control of Visceral Leishmaniasis. Allow your work to reach the communities who need it the most and contribute to the eradication of leishmaniasis. Our guest editors, Angamuthu Selvapandiyan and Shaden Kamhawi are particularly interested in research that distills the key next steps towards reaching elimination targets for the leishmaniasis research community. Their editorial is the foundation of the upcoming PLOS Collection.
We invite submission of articles or reviews to PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases on the following:
- Papers that elaborate on the innovations related to elimination and control of leishmaniasis including VL, cutaneous leishmaniasis, and post-kala-azar leishmaniasis in the areas of current status, genomics and basic science, immunology, epidemiology, transmission, diagnostics, drugs, vaccines and data, and health systems.
- Papers on vector control measures handled to control sand fly population to reduce transmission.
PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases publishes research devoted to the pathology, epidemiology, prevention, treatment and control of the neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), as well as public policy relevant to this group of diseases. To be considered for publication in PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases, any given manuscript must satisfy criteria including: originality; importance and relevance to researchers, practitioners, or policy makers in the field of NTDs; and interest for researchers or practitioners outside the field.
