Saint Louis University, dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Jianguo Liu's lab in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Molecular Microbiology and Immunology.
Tuberculosis (TB) remains a leading health problem worldwide. The lack of highly effective preventive vaccine, the emergence of drug-resistant strains, and an epidemic in HIV patients make TB a worsening threat. Host-directed therapy (HDT) is a promising approach for treating drug-resistant TB. This NIH-funded position is to investigate the host protective immune mechanisms and develop new HDT against Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection.
Postdoctoral position is available immediately for researchers (Ph.D., D.V.M. or M.D.) with strong background in molecular biology and immunology. Previous experience in TB research is desired.
This position is a full-time appointment with all benefits provided by SLU. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
