Biography:

I have a post-doctoral position within the Laboratory of Transmission, Control, and Immunobiology of Infection at Pasteur Institute of Tunis. After being graduated with a PhD in biology, I joined the DeVaLeish team to work on the development of an mRNA vaccine against zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis. We are interested in the evaluation of the immunogenicity and efficiency of some vaccine’s candidates against cutaneous leishmaniasis.

During my thesis, I was led to study the effect of the saliva on the development of zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis in a mouse model with an interest for the evaluation of the immune response after immunizations with salivary glands homogenates derived from different generations of Phlebotomus papatasi. The effect of the saliva on the biological parameters of this sandfly has also been evaluated since the fact that some sandfly components may be used as anti-vector vaccine which is important in considering prospects for control of hematophagous vectors.

In addition, I am involved in other research projects that aims to study the vector, pathogen, and host’s interaction.
