Biography:

With over 16 years of experience in mycobacteriology, I am a Scientist specializing in TB diagnostics, utilizing a range of molecular, microbiological, and immunological methods. I have pioneered advanced techniques in the laboratory and mentored students and junior staff. Leading multiple projects on TB detection, drug resistance, and the discovery of transcriptomic signature markers and biomarkers for TB. My career objective is to advance TB diagnosis and treatment through innovative approaches in molecular pathogenesis, genomics, and biomarkers. Presently, my research focuses on TB detection from non-respiratory specimens, targeted next-generation sequencing, and TB transmission dynamics. As the supervisor of the Mycobacteriology laboratory at icddr,b, I oversee the implementation of advanced diagnostics and ensure the delivery of quality TB diagnostic services.
