Biography:

I am Francisco Bohorquez, a trilingual Colombian microbiologist who graduated from Universidad de los Andes with a minor in Neurosciences. Currently, I am a Master's candidate in Biological Sciences at the same university. Since my undergraduate studies, I have been part of the CIMPAT (Center for Research in Microbiology and Tropical Parasitology) group, where I developed my thesis on creating an antivenom against the venom of Lonomia caterpillars in Colombia. In this project, I produced monovalent and polyvalent sera, evaluating their efficacy and specificity. My master's research continues along this line, focusing on developing a synthetic antivenom by identifying epitopes and designing an scFv that specifically targets them. Through this work, I have gained experience in immunology, antibody design, and immunoinformatics, aiming to develop antivenoms and vaccines.
