Biography:

I am Professor at the Aklilu Lemma Institute of Pathobiology (ALIPB) of Addis Ababa University (AAU) where I lead TB research projects. My research interests are infectious diseases epidemiology and public health with special focus on molecular epidemiology of tuberculosis and genetics of pathogens. Vaccine and diagnostic kits development. Moreover, exploring the population structure of mycobacteria and investigating its molecular epidemiology. My research and field work experiences is focus on public health, epidemiology of zoonotic diseases in pastoralists and their livestock, specifically on tuberculosis, rabies, brucellosis and other zoonosis using one health approaches.
