Biography:

I am a biomedical researcher specializing in immunology, diagnostics, and vaccine development, with a current focus on neglected infectious diseases including Dengue virus, Mycobacteria and Leishmania spp. My expertise in immune profiling, biomarker discovery, and antibody effector functions—such as antibody-dependent cytotoxicity, phagocytosis, and neutralization—directly supports VALIDATE’s mission. I have developed multiplex diagnostic systems for M. tuberculosis and novel approaches to studying vaccine immunogenicity, which can be adapted for neglected intracellular pathogens. My recent work on Leishmania, particularly in anti-parasitic natural compound discovery, complements my broader experience in host-pathogen interactions. Additionally, I am committed to mentoring early-career researchers in LMICs and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations to accelerate translational research in tuberculosis and leishmaniasis vaccine development.
