Biography:
I am an early-career researcher specializing in infectious disease research and molecular medicine, currently serving as a Research Fellow with the Global Health and Infectious Diseases (GHID) group at the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR). My work focuses on the planning and implementation of field and laboratory studies on priority pathogens such as COVID-19, Marburg, and Dengue, with the goal of improving outbreak preparedness in resource-limited settings. I also investigate the genetic factors that influence disease susceptibility and immune response to inform precision medicine approaches.
In addition to leading and supporting epidemiological research, I have contributed to clinical trials such as the VAT00008 vaccine and ANTICOV studies. My experience spans international training, manuscript preparation, and collaboration with multinational research networks like ALERRT. I am also passionate about mentorship and capacity building, actively training young scientists through initiatives like the Skills for Excellence in Science Series (SEXISS). My technical skills include molecular and immunological techniques such as PCR, ELISA, MIA, and flow cytometry.
