Biography:

With over seven years of experience in mycobacteriological research, I specialize in tuberculosis (TB) diagnostics and management. My career has focused on routine laboratory techniques such as microscopy, molecular assays, and TB culture, and I am proficient in utilizing diverse laboratory tests to support TB research and diagnostics. Currently, I serve as a Scientific Officer on the TB Sequel 2 project which assess the long-term impact of post-TB lung disease (PTLD) on patients' morbidity and mortality. I hold a BSc in Biology from the University of The Gambia and am pursuing a Master’s in Healthcare Management at the University of Greenwich. My passion lies in advancing TB diagnostics in low and middle-income countries (LMICs), improving diagnostic accuracy, and contributing to global TB interventions.
