Biography:

I am a postdoctoral researcher based at the Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU), Thailand, with a dual affiliation with the Wellcome Sanger Institute, United Kingdom, working with Dr Claire Chewapreecha (MORU) and Dr Emma Davenport (Wellcome Sanger Institute, United Kingdom). My current research focuses on host-pathogen interactions in melioidosis.

Specifically, I aim to characterise the host transcriptomic and genetic factors and the pathogen genetic factors that contribute to the severity of Burkholderia pseudomallei infections in Northeast Thailand, interpreting results in the context of known comorbidities of melioidosis. To carry out my research, I use bioinformatics methods such as differential expression analysis, alternative splicing analysis, genome-wide association studies, and expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) analysis.
