Biography:

Dr. Halwai completed her MD in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases in 2015 from B.P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, Nepal. She is currently in the position of Assistant Professor in the same institute.

She worked in the clinical bacteriology laboratory for 3 years and responsible for detection and identification of infectious agents. Her role was in reporting and verification of the clinical isolates and antimicrobial resistance. In 2018, she was nominated as a team member of Hospital Infection Control team of B.P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

Since 2019, she is actively involved in the diagnosis of tuberculosis and also guiding the technicians and students in the clinical mycobacteriology laboratory. Her primary areas of interests are in tuberculosis diagnosis and prevention and antimicrobial resistance. She is passionate about clinical microbiology. She is motivated to pursue her career in mycobacteriology researches in diagnosis and molecular epidemiology of tuberculosis.
