I am a seasoned Principal Public Health Officer and Epidemiologist with over 15 years of progressive experience in public health leadership, disease surveillance, and emergency and disaster preparedness. I have dedicated my career to strengthening health systems, improving disease prevention strategies, and coordinating multi-sectoral responses to public health threats in Kenya.

Currently, as the County Emergency and Disaster Coordinator, where I leads the establishment of preparedness and response frameworks, emergency referral systems, ambulance networks, and interagency coordination mechanisms. She chairs the Health Sector Interagency Emergency Coordination Committee and plays a pivotal role in implementing the Emergency Care Policy aligned with Universal Health Coverage.

Previously, I work as the County Deputy Epidemiologist and Disease Surveillance Coordinator, where I oversaw county-wide surveillance systems, train health personnel and community members, and facilitate communication between county and national health authorities on emerging disease trends. I have also provided technical training on emergency and disaster preparedness to health staff and refugee communities in Kakuma, supported by the Kenya Red Cross.

Her earlier roles include serving as Deputy Public Health Officer in Baringo Central, where I coordinated public health programs on tobacco control, climate change-related disease management, and health workforce training. Emily has also contributed to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programs across multiple counties, working with organizations such as the Kenya Organization for Environmental Education, World Vision, and JICA.

I hold a Master of Science in Public Health (Epidemiology) and currently a PhD candidate in Public Health at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
