Biography:

I am a pulmonologist and consultant of infectious disease in Persahabatan Hospital, Jakarta, the national referral hospital for respiratory diseases. I mostly work in TB diagnosis and management, especially drug resistant TB. I am also Board of Director of the Union, International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease. Furthermore, I collaborate with American Thoracic Society, as a country director to conduct a Methods in Epidemiologic, Clinical and Operational Research (MECOR).

I started doing TB research in Namibia, Africa during my master degree in Heidelberg, Germany. During PhD, I did a dissertation project on measuring TB drugs plasma concentrations in relation to treatment response among TB patients. In 2008, I received a grant from Wellcome Trust for research about avian influenza.  During clinical work, I have been a national principal investigator or co-investigator on some RCTs, done some multicenter researches in national and international scales, as well as gotten grants from Government.
