Biography: My research and teaching interests lie in the areas of host-pathogen interactions, improving diagnostics, molecular epidemiology and mechanisms of drug resistance in bacterial pathogens. More particularly, I work with M. tuberculosis and other mycobacteria to understand drug resistance mechanisms, to improve diagnostics methods, microbial genetics and unravelling the molecular mechanisms in host-pathogen interactions.
