Network Investigator

Research Keywords:

Leishmaniasis, Immunopathology, Diagnosis, Vaccine

Biography:

Research areas: immunopathology and diagnosis of leishmaniases. In immunopathology we focus non-specific elements such as lipoprotein fractions, insulin-like growth factor-I in Leishmania infection development, immunopathological mechanisms of lesions in leishmaniasis, susceptibility gene polymorphism in subjects in endemic areas of visceral leishmaniasis and search for potential targets for vaccine candidates. In diagnosis, we develop assays to improve diagnosis of leishmaniases using recombinant Leishmania antigens.
