Biography:
My research focuses on understanding host–pathogen interactions in intracellular infections of both veterinary and zoonotic importance, with a strong emphasis on vaccine development and immunological interventions. I am particularly interested in pathogens such as Mycobacterium bovis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and Leishmania spp., which present major challenges to both animal health and human public health within a One Health framework. By studying mechanisms of immunopathogenesis, T-cell mediated immunity, and antigen discovery, I aim to identify novel vaccine candidates and strategies that can provide effective, long-lasting protection.
My main research interests lie at the interface of veterinary medicine, global health, and translational vaccinology. I am passionate about developing tools that not only mitigate disease burden in livestock and wildlife reservoirs but also reduce zoonotic transmission risks to humans. Through comparative immunology, the use of animal models, and integrative approaches such as systems vaccinology, I hope to contribute to innovative vaccine solutions for neglected tropical and emerging diseases.
