Biography:
Isabella holds an M.Sc. in Tropical Medicine and a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology, both from the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC/Fiocruz). Her research centers on Immunology and Cell Biology, with a particular focus on innate immune responses and the identification of immunological biomarkers in leprosy. Currently, at the Leprosy Laboratory (IOC/Fiocruz), she is engaged in a Phase 1b clinical trial of the LepVax leprosy vaccine and in the development of ex vivo/in vitro models of erythema nodosum leprosum (ENL), aiming to identify new therapeutic targets and biomarkers for this leprosy complication.
