Biography:

My research primarily focuses on Molecular Epidemiology and Public Health, with a strong emphasis on Zoonotic Diseases. Specifically, I have studied bovine tuberculosis in Mozambique, examining its prevalence, risk factors, and transmission dynamics. This work has contributed to a better understanding of how bovine tuberculosis affects both animal and human populations, which is crucial for developing effective control strategies.

My research aligns with the "One Health" approach, integrating human, animal, and environmental health to address global health challenges. This holistic perspective enables me to contribute meaningfully to improving public health outcomes in Mozambique and beyond. By exploring the intersection of animal and human health, my work complements the VALIDATE network's mission to address significant infectious diseases through vaccine development and research. Through this synergy, I aim to enhance our understanding of zoonotic diseases and develop more effective disease control strategies that benefit both human and animal health.
