Biography:

I have research interest in tuberculosis and drug resistant tuberculosis transmission, epidemiology and treatment. Transmission studies have used geographical information systems and molecular biology, an interesting combination. We have used data from TB drug resistant surveys to characterise changing patterns in TB drug resistant and contributed to policy formulating on TB diagnosis using chest x-ray.

My future research interest is on TB immunology that will complement current evidence on TB epidemiology. In addition, it will allow development of new TB vaccines and be part of the team searching for answers to the unending TB burden in low income countries.
