Biography:
Lydia Mosi is an Associate Professor of Cell and Molecular Biology at the Department of Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, University of Ghana, and the Deputy Director, Administration of the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens. She holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Tennessee. Prof. Mosi’s research focuses on transmission of Buruli ulcer disease and developing early diagnostic tools. She is also keen on the integration of diagnosis and management of neglected tropical skin diseases. Her lab is a core member of the World Health Organization Laboratory Network group for SkinNTD diagnosis (SkinNTD-LABNET). She is a fellow of the African Academy of Sciences Affiliates Programme and the African Science Leadership Programme of which she is also a facilitator. She is a recipient of the Mwele Malecela Mentorship (MMM) Program for Women in Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), funded by the World Health Organization.
