Biography

Margarida Correia-Neves is presently Full Professor in Immunology and Microbiology at the School of Medicine, University of Minho, Braga, Portugal and Researcher at the Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS) from the same university and Associate Researcher at Karolinska Instituted (KI), Stockholm, Sweden.

Present research activities mainly focus on:

  1. Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS: immune response and methods to improve the diagnosis and reduce transmission
  2. One Health concept on tuberculosis (human and animal interaction). Research activities are performed mainly at the ICVS and KI with long-term collaborations with colleagues in Mozambique.

Margarida has published more than 120 pear reviewed papers in international journals (Correia-Neves, M; h-index=37; Web of Science ResearcherID - C-9122-2009; orcid - 0000-00022202-5431).

Margarida Correia-Neves has been the coordinator and a member of several research projects funded by national and international institutions; has supervised/co-supervised 17 PhD students and 17 Master students (thesis completed); and has been a member of the directive board of PhD programs. Margarida Correia-Neves launch as the director (2020 and 2021) the Doctoral College at the University of Minho.
