Biography
My main focus is currently mycolic acid investigations, with the aim of determining specific structure-function relationships, as well as the role of inhA promoter mutations in physiological changes in the mycolic acid structure. I am also interested in various aspects of isoniazid and ethionamide resistance, relating to epidemiology, diagnosis and “alternative” mechanisms conferring such resistance, which are not detected using current routine genetic diagnostic tests.
