Biography:
I trained as a pharmacist. I appointed as teaching and research assistant at department of microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University in Egypt. I did my master degree in microbiology and Immunology studying the role of a highly conserved part of pneumococcal surface protein A called “proline-rich domain” and its protective efficacy in mice”. I was awarded Newton-Mosharafa Scholarship to pursue my PhD at University of Southampton in the United Kingdom. I am doing my PhD on Neisseria gonorrhoeae vaccine using a highly conserved protein called MafA2/3 adhesin protein to examine its immunogenic and bactericidal activity against different gonococcal strains using three different vaccine approaches.
