Biography:
My scientific career is deeply rooted in immunology and tropical diseases, with a strong foundation in laboratory techniques and data analysis. Currently, my research at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) is specifically focused on the immunology and molecular biology of leprosy. As a doctoral student in Infectology and Tropical Medicine, my primary interest lies in unravelling the complex immune responses to Mycobacterium leprae and exploring molecular mechanisms related to the disease, aiming to contribute to new diagnostic tools and therapeutic strategies.
My background includes extensive practical experience in parasitic biology and immunology from my time as a Research Scientist at FIOCRUZ Minas, where I worked on Schistosoma mansoni. This, combined with my earlier work in virology and epidemiological surveillance at Fundação Ezequiel Dias, has equipped me with a robust skill set in flow cytometry, and the analysis of immunological data. My dedication to scientific inquiry and public health drives my current research, which is entirely concentrated on advancing our understanding and combating leprosy through cutting-edge immunological and molecular approaches.
