Biography:

My research focuses on understanding microbial pathogens, with a particular emphasis on Mycobacterium tuberculosis and antimicrobial resistance mechanisms. I am interested in leveraging molecular and genomic tools, including next-generation sequencing and biomarker discovery, to investigate pathogen diversity, track disease progression, and develop innovative diagnostic approaches. Through my work, I aim to bridge fundamental microbiology with translational applications that can improve clinical outcomes and inform public health strategies. I am especially drawn to projects that integrate One Health perspectives, examining the intersections of human, animal, and environmental health to address emerging infectious diseases. My current interests include the application of high-throughput sequencing to characterize microbial populations, the development of rapid diagnostic assays, and the identification of novel biomarkers for disease monitoring and treatment efficacy. I am motivated by the potential of combining advanced laboratory techniques with bioinformatics to generate actionable insights that can influence policy, clinical practice, and global health interventions.
