Biography:

My research is primarily focused on the development of novel therapeutic strategies for neglected tropical diseases, with a particular emphasis on Leishmaniasis. I investigate the pathogenesis of Leishmania species and explore innovative treatment options, including the use of natural products and advanced drug delivery systems. In addition to my work on Leishmaniasis, I am also dedicated to the co-encapsulation of probiotics and antioxidants for the treatment of intestinal disorders, as well as the production and biomedical applications of bacterial cellulose. My research further extends to the antimicrobial properties of ethno-medicinal products, like stingless bee honey, and the integration of cyber-biosecurity strategies in biotechnological applications to ensure the safety and efficacy of these interventions.
