Biography:

I am a Bangladeshi scientist with research focus on mycobacterial infections, epidemiology, diagnostics, and therapeutics. I head the Program for Emerging Infections as a Senior Scientist at icddr,b, where I have been conducting research and programmatic activities on tuberculosis for over 25 years. , conducting quality laboratory-focused research and programmatic activities on tuberculosis (TB) for around 30 years. Over the years, my contributions towards TB has had both national and international impact. A fellow of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences and The World Academy of Sciences, I have won awards for my work, published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and have presented my work in many scientific conferences and symposiums.
