Biography:

I am a senior researcher specializing in infectious disease immunology and immunometabolism, with a strong focus on host-pathogen interactions and immune cell bioenergetics. My PhD research investigated the metabolic status of lymphocytes and macrophages during intracellular infections, including Tuberculosis and Leishmaniasis, revealing disease-specific immunometabolic alterations with therapeutic implications. My expertise spans multi-colour flow cytometry, Seahorse extracellular flux analysis, immune cell isolation and culture, ELISA, qPCR, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry.

I am particularly interested in understanding how immune cell metabolism shapes host defence, immune dysfunction, and therapeutic outcomes, with a focus toward developing host-directed therapies and metabolic interventions for infectious and diseases. My long-term goal is to contribute to advancing immunometabolism-based strategies for vaccines and therapeutics targeting TB and leishmaniasis.
