Biography: I am a Sudanese female who is passionate about scientific research. I have over 15 years of research experience in centres of excellence in South Africa. I have a PhD in Medical Microbiology from the University of Cape Town. Through post-doctoral research I developed interest and gained experience in Antimicrobial Resistance, Molecular Epidemiology and, more recently, Tuberculosis Diagnostics. I am currently transitioning to an academic position and would like to lead research projects that addresses the challenges associated with diagnosing asymptomatic TB.
