Weekly Round-up #122

Welcome to VALIDATE Weekly Round-up #122 - a round up of news and opportunities for VALIDATE Members.

Two Important Surveys

To ensure that the network has its say in the future of two major research funders we encourage VALIDATE members to participate in two very important surveys:

  • MRC International Partnerships Survey 2020: The MRC is planning its approach to international partnerships for the next 5 years and is seeking input from key stakeholders. The survey is open to biomedical/health researchers at PI/Co-I/Fellow level and senior research managers and facilitators. The deadline for completion of the survey is 21 June 2020.
  • BBSRC Use of Models in Research Survey: The BBSRC is inviting researchers from all disciplines to provide their opinions and insight into the types of models currently used in research and those that might be used in future as part of their Use of Models in Research Survey. The deadline for this survey is 28 June 2020.

Highlights on Twitter this week

We tweeted a final reminder of the deadline for Round 9 of the VALIDATE Training Grants, which closes today; promoted an article by three VALIDATE Members 'Vaccinomics strategy to concoct a promising subunit vaccine for visceral leishmaniasis targeting sandfly and leishmania antigens'; and promoted our first Online Summer Seminar. We also shared a tweet by Bactivac celebrating their first ECR Zoom meeting, a very helpful strategy guide from Write That PhD; and an article on drug resistant TB from TB DailyNews.
