VALIDATE Winter Seminars

Many VALIDATE members will remember our successful Summer Seminar Series. With those in mind, we are now pleased to offer members a new series of online talks for the winter months. We currently have two Seminars planned from VALIDATE members in South Africa and Italy.

Funding


  • 20ALERT: Mid-range equipment funding – The minimum value is £200,000 (inc. VAT) at 100% full economic costing over 12 months. The call budget is approximately £10 million – 26 November 2020

  • UC Berkeley Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, 2020 - The Scholars Program aims to develop a cohort of ethical, entrepreneurial, and energetic young leaders who will drive and lead socio-economic transformation in Africa – deadline 1 December 2020

  • UKRI/BBSRC Knowledge Transfer Partnerships - Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) accelerate business innovation by supporting knowledge exchange with academic institutions - deadline 31 December 2020

  • Wellcome Trust Innovator Awards, 2020 - To support researchers who are transforming great ideas into healthcare innovations that could have a significant impact on human health – deadline 1 December

We shared a fascinating article from UKRI News about the National Mouse Genetics Network and GAVI published an article on how malnutrition can affect the immune response to vaccinations. Nature Index asked five researchers about the steps to take after completing a PhD, the Union published their abstract book for their 2020 conference and we reminded members about our past training grants.
