The Next VALIDATE Industry Seminar - Register today

The final online event in our series of talks from VALIDATE's industry Partners will be taking place on 15 July 2021. In Tuberculosis Infection and T cell-Mediated Immunity, Dr Xiao from Oxford Immunotec will be discussing the Immunology of latent TB infection (LTBI) and active TB disease, the granuloma formation and T cell medicated immunity and the immunology behind T cell-mediated immunity tests. Albert and Camille's Little Lille Adventure - Play the test version today!

As you are aware, VALIDATE has been developing educational computer games that we hope will give teachers and researchers unique resources for engaging young people about vaccinology. We have an early "pre-beta" (an early test version) of the game ready for our members to play before we launch a beta-test version to the public. We really hope that our members will play through the game and complete the feedback form - www.validate-network.org/little-lille-test

We would also encourage you to share it with any young people in your life, especially those who are in the target 11 - 14 years age group and ask them to complete the anonymous feedback form.

The Memorial Sloan Kettering Center were celebrating solving one of TB’s deadliest trick, TBnet shared a major breakthrough for TB treatment, and VALIDATE’s Co-Director Helen Fletcher was busting vaccine myths. Nature Careers profiles of three trailblazing women scientists, had some advice for new PI’s, tips for mentoring during the pandemic, and an article on how bias plays out for female experiment participants. Write that PhD had some advice for writing convincing research proposals, developing good scientific questions and hypotheses, getting published in journals, and developing a unique voice as an academic writer. The Union joined the WHO in calling for urgent action in tackling TB, the TB Alliance were discussing the impact of TB on women in LMICs, and the Stop TB Partnership shared a discussion with TB & COVID-19 survivors in Indonesia.
