The Memorial Sloan Kettering Center were celebrating solving one of TB’s deadliest trick, TBnet shared a major breakthrough for TB treatment, and VALIDATE’s Co-Director Helen Fletcher was busting vaccine myths. Nature Careers profiles of three trailblazing women scientists, had some advice for new PI’s, tips for mentoring during the pandemic, and an article on how bias plays out for female experiment participants. Write that PhD had some advice for writing convincing research proposals, developing good scientific questions and hypotheses, getting published in journals, and developing a unique voice as an academic writer. The Union joined the WHO in calling for urgent action in tackling TB, the TB Alliance were discussing the impact of TB on women in LMICs, and the Stop TB Partnership shared a discussion with TB & COVID-19 survivors in Indonesia.
