On Twitter this week: the BSI mentoring scheme is open for applications; MRC Executive Chair Prof Fiona Watt takes a closer look at the claims of a 'biomedical bubble'; a great Wellcome Q&A on why we need vaccines; an article on fixing the current PhD system; an update to the PLOS TB channel; how re-wording your thesis chapter headings can overcome writer's block; tips for success as an Early Career Researcher; the launch of the Wellcome health photography prize; and a call from Wellcome for people pioneering new ways to stop superbugs to present to global health leaders later this year - if this could be you, get in touch with them. Follow us on Twitter to keep up to date - @NetworkVALIDATE.

We're on holiday ourselves for the next couple of weeks, so there will be a break in the round-ups but we'll be back in September with more news and info to help your research and careers.
