VALIDATE Summer Seminar: Efforts to understand the immunology of bovine TB - Register now
Prof Bernardo Villarreal-Ramos and Dr Amanda Gibson will be talking about bovine tuberculosis via a pre-recorded seminar which we will release by Monday 31 August and will be answering questions via Microsoft Teams at 15:00 BST on 1 September. Register today to receive the video and we will send an invite to the live Teams Q&A.

- Newton International Fellowship - The Academy of Medical Sciences is working with the Royal Society and British Academy to offer Newton International Fellowships - deadline 3 September 2020
- Global Challenges Research Fund Networking Grants - The awards provide up to £25,000 over one year to support collaborations between developing countries and the UK - deadline 10 September 2020
- Newton-Mosharafa Fund PhD Programme - supporting Egyptian researchers studying for PhD at UK Higher Education institutions. The programme covers all fees and living/travel expenses - deadline 1 October 2020
- Young Enterprise Scheme - an innovative global competition developed to raise awareness among ECRs of how ideas from science and engineering can be commercialised - apply until 31 December 2020

Neglected Tropical Diseases NGO Network (NNN) are open for nominations to their executive board, Uniting to Combat NTDs shared a wired article on Climate Change's impact on the spread of Tropical Diseases and GHCT have produced a fact sheet series about the impact of research on different Global Health Areas. Nature published an interesting article on the dangers of confirmation bias and a guide on what project management tools can do for researchers. Bactivac released their August 2020 newsletter. The WHO Stop TB Partnership New Diagnostics Working Group launched a framework to evaluate the development of new scalable tests for TB, and The Global TB Caucus hosted a group of European MPs to discuss the implications of COVID-19 on the fight against TB.
