  • TWAS Awards - The World Academy of Scienecs provides nine awards to individual scientists who have been working and living in a developing country for at least 10 years. The cycle of the TWAS Awards is now every two years - deadline 30 March 2021
  • Infections and Immunity New Investigator - The new investigator research grant is aimed at researchers who are capable of becoming independent principal investigators and who are now ready to take the next step towards that goal - deadline 11 May 2022
  • MRC Infections and Immunity Programme - Apply for funding for research projects focused on infections and immunity - deadline 11 May 2022

Highlights on Twitter this week:

The LSE Impact blog had an interesting article on the effect of the pandemic on ECRs, ScienceNorway had information on a new TB vaccine that could also act as a treatment, and the Microbiology Society open up nominations for their 2022 Lecture Prize. Know Your Vaccines had some engagement information about vaccine ingredients, and write that PhD had 10 simple rules to improve writing productivity. We celebrated as VALIDATE member Dr Maria Elena Bottazzi was nominated for a Nobel Prize by a US congresswoman and fellow nominee Peter Hotez spoke about NTDs on the New England Biolabs Podcast. United Against NTDs shared infographics on the economic impact of and lack of funding for Neglected tropical diseases.
