We are excited to be attending the 9th EDCTP Forum. VALIDATE Network Manager Samantha Vermaak is giving a talk on Wed 19 Sep entitled: "The VALIDATE Network: exploiting synergies between complex intracellular neglected pathogens to expedite vaccine R&D for tuberculosis, leishmaniasis, leprosy and melioidosis" - we are looking forward to sharing information about VALIDATE with EDCTP members, and hope to bump into some VALIDATE members at the conference!

 

Funding: 

  • ERC Starting Grant - support for excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are starting their own independent research team or programme - deadline 17 Oct 2018
  • AAI Travel for Techniques Program - to assist AAI members in learning techniques needed for their research - deadline 15 Oct 2018
  • BSI Travel Awards - deadline 1 Nov 2018
  • ERC Synergy Grant - grants to enable minimum two to maximum four Principal Investigators and their teams to bring together complementary skills, knowledge, and resources in new ways, in order to jointly address ambitious research problems - deadline 14 Nov 2018
  • ADVAC 2019 Fellowships - funding to attend ADVAC 2019 - deadline 15 Nov 2018

In addition, the call for our Training Grants is still open (closing 29 October) - VALIDATE training grants offer up to £3000 to help VALIDATE Associates take advantage of training opportunities that will contribute to their professional development. This can include (but is not limited to) attendance at courses or workshops, laboratory exchange, work shadowing, and attendance at an international conference to present a talk.
