Weekly Round-up #121
Welcome to VALIDATE's 121st Weekly Round-up. We have an important announcement and the usual collection of news and opportunities for our members!
VALIDATE Summer Seminars 2020
The lock-down has meant that VALIDATE has not been able to organise any face-to-face events. However, we are now excited to announce our 2020 Online Summer Seminars Series! Taking place in June and July 2020, we hope to bring together members from across the world via the power of the internet, and allow researchers to present their findings to the VALIDATE community.
We have scheduled two seminars and hope to add at least one more to the roster soon.
Developing a Vaccine for Melioidosis
Prof Siobhán McClean & Dr Julen Tomás Cortázar
University College Dublin
Melioidosis Subunit Vaccines & Melioidosis and Glanders
Prof Paul Brett & Prof Mary Burtnick

Highlights on Twitter this week
We were very busy on Twitter continuing our #HappyBirthdayVALIDATE campaign. On Wednesday, we tweeted our VALID8 interviews with our Network Director Prof Helen McShane and new Affiliate Member Moagi Shaku. On Thursday we highlighted our £800k of pump priming projects and dedicated a thread welcoming some of our newer members including Dr Paramadeep Singh, Shikama Felicien, Olusola Olawale Olaleye, Prof Mario Alberto Flores-Valdez, and Prof Heidi Larson. Also on Thursday, we celebrated our Fellowships by tweeting an infographic about VALIDATE Fellow Dr Rachel Tanner (who then sent a thank you to us). On Friday we shared our new “Why Join VALIDATE” infographic and ended our birthday week by celebrating VALIDATE reaching 800 followers on Twitter! This week we've flagged a Pharma Times interview with Prof Helen McShane and our new pinned tweet includes the "Why Join VALIDATE" infographic. All this and much more @NetworkVALIDATE.
