VALIDATE Heads to South Africa - One Health in TB and Leshmaniasis Workshop

The VALIDATE Network is preparing to host a three-day workshop in Paarl, South Africa, focusing on tuberculosis (TB) and leishmaniasis. Involving over 30 delegates and experts in the field from 16 countries, the workshop will center on the One Health approach, recognizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.

Key Objectives:

  1. Identifying Challenges: Participants will discuss challenges in TB and leishmaniasis and explore solutions, including vaccines, diagnostics, data collection, epidemiology, social science, and policy.

  2. Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Delegates will present research, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among diverse teams and disciplines.

  3. Future Projects: The workshop aims to generate potential collaborative project ideas, emphasising cross-pathogen and cross-discipline research.
