The British Academy: Researchers at Risk Fellowships - The British Academy with Cara is establishing a Researchers at Risk Fellowships Programme with the support of the Academy of Medical Sciences, the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society - deadline 29 July 2022
Future Rural Africa: Female Researcher’s Grants 2022 - The aim of the grants is to promote female researchers at all stages of their careers. Support is given to creative scientific ideas that fit the content of the CRC in the broadest sense and are not covered yet - deadline 31 July 2022
Funded PhD: Unlocking the relationship between host metal distribution and pathogen phenotype in tuberculosis - This project will use mycobacterial genetics and transcriptomics, alongside cutting-edge elemental ion beam mapping, to define the distribution of metals in M.tb biofilms and lung tissues, and characterise the impact of metal accumulation or depletion on - deadline 14 August 2022
ERC Proof of Concept Grants - Funding to maximise the value of the excellent research that the ERC funds, by funding further work to verify the innovation potential of ideas arising from ERC-funded projects - deadline 29 September 2022

Highlights on Twitter this week:

Times Now provided a full list of India’s recommended vaccinations (including BCG), BSI opened registration for their Congress 2022, and the Global Fund is Looking for TB experts to join their Technical Review Panel. Nature Careers suggested seven questions to ask before pursuing a grant, the Global TB Caucus shared their plan to end TB with international MPs and BactiVac posted a video of a webinar on using vaccines to fight Antimicrobial Resistance. The BSI released the results of their survey of the global veterinary vaccine community and supported a webinar featuring LGBTQ+ vaccinologists. Bactivac shared recordings from the GVIRF webinar on the role of vaccines in preventing AMR, Prof Heidi Larson shared a WHO report warning on the global backslide in Vaccine trust, and the BSI Promoted the UK’s “Stick to Science” initiative. Treatment Action Group has a fascinating podcast called "How the Global TB Community Advisory Board Transformed History's Oldest Pandemic".
